Richard has over 30 years experience advising Australian resources companies on capital market and M&A transactions. Richard joined Blue Ocean Equities in 2023, after nearly three decades with global investment banks, primarily at Macquarie Bank (1993 – 2000) where Richard started his career and at UBS (2005 – 2017) where Richard was a Managing Director and Head of Natural Resources, Australia. Richard also held the position of Managing Director and Head of Natural Resources, Australia for Citigroup (2017-2021) and more recently headed up Mining Corporate Finance as a Managing Director at Ord Minnett, with a focus on emerging natural resources companies.
Richard holds degrees in Economics (Hons Class I) and Laws (Hons Class II) from the University of Sydney. He also has completed the Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from FINSIA (formerly the Securities Institute of Australia)
