Prior to joining Blue Ocean, Gerald worked at FIIG as a credit analyst, at CRU as a commodities analyst and prior to that he worked in industry with Rio Tinto as a process engineer and Alumina Ltd (now Alcoa). Gerald holds a M.Eng. (Chemical Engineering) and B.Sc. from The University of Melbourne.
